Measure the final location, access route and assembly area. Confirm floor suitability, ventilation/clearance guidance, dedicated electrical service, and whether the unit is rated for the intended environment.
Read specifications as a system
Dimensions, capacity, materials, electrical load, controls, warranty and delivery requirements interact. A model that looks ideal on features can become a poor fit if the circuit or footprint is wrong.

Save the current product page, manual, warranty and order details for the exact configuration. Manufacturer specifications can change over time.

Start with the measurement conditions. A useful claim identifies what was measured, where the reading was taken, the distance from the source and the units used. A single marketing number without test conditions is harder to compare across products.
Keep EMF in proportion to the whole purchase
For most buyers, heat type, electrical compatibility, construction, capacity, warranty and installation fit remain major practical criteria. If EMF is a deciding factor for you, request current model specific documentation rather than assuming one measurement applies across an entire brand.
What to request from a manufacturer
- A model specific test or report rather than a brand wide statement
- The units used and the distance from the heater or electrical component
- Where in the cabin readings were taken
- Whether electric and magnetic fields were reported separately
If two brands publish results under different conditions, the numbers may not be directly comparable. Ask for enough test context to understand what the figure represents.
